The Totalizer watch calculator is designed to enhance user experience by prioritizing ease of use and functionality. Key features include:
- Large, easily accessible buttons that maintain all functions on a single screen.
- A running total that updates in real-time as input is entered, eliminating the need for an "=" button.
- Exceptional button responsiveness for a seamless experience.
- Instantaneous launch time for immediate access.
- A comprehensive equation preview visible in the title bar while typing, optimizing screen space for larger buttons.
- Easily reachable "%" button, a crucial feature for common calculations such as tips, sales, or tax-inclusive pricing.
- The percentage calculations are intuitive:
- 200 + 10% = 220
- 100 - 10% = 90
- A secondary layout maximizing button size, with operators accessible via a button press or swipe gesture.
- One-tap function to add parentheses around equations by simply tapping the running total number.
- Complications available for quick app access and display of the last calculated result.
While these features may seem straightforward, considerable thought and design refinement were necessary to achieve this level of usability. This effort becomes evident upon beginning to use the application.
